The Complete Digital Asset Inventory Checklist (2026 Edition)
A fill-in-the-blank worksheet for listing every digital account, platform, and asset you use — so someone you trust can step in when you can't.
Most people guess they have 15 or 20 online accounts. When they actually count, the real number is three to four times that.
Every blank cell on this page is a question mark your family would face if you couldn't log in tomorrow. But each one you fill in turns a question mark into a plan.
How to Use This
Go category by category. For each platform you use, mark the checkbox — then ask yourself: if something happened and I couldn't log in, would anyone know what to do?
The tables below spell out what happens in both directions. The gray text is fixed — that's what's at stake. The blank cells are yours.
Category 1: Gaming Platforms
Your game libraries can be worth thousands. Unlike physical games, nobody can see them unless they know the account is there.

Category 2: Creator & Social Media
These aren't just profiles — they're income streams, portfolios, and communities. If nobody can get in, nobody can archive your work or tell your followers.

Category 3: Email Accounts
Your primary email is the skeleton key. With it, someone can reset passwords on almost everything else. Without it, almost every recovery flow is broken.

Category 4: Cloud Storage & File Hosting

Websites don't vanish suddenly. They expire quietly, 90 days after a credit card stops working.

Category 7: Subscriptions
These keep billing until the card expires — and sometimes after. Each one you don't list is a slow leak from a bank account.

What to Do With the List
Once you've filled it in, you have options:
Notebook. Print it, seal it, tell someone where it is. Simple. Risk: anyone who finds it can read everything.
Password manager. Use emergency access (1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Legacy Contact). Risk: your contact needs their own account, and access delays vary.
Encrypted vault. Store everything in a system where encryption runs in your browser. Name someone you trust. If you stop checking in, they get access. If you're fine, nothing happens.
